After surviving a first-degree burn, I can say that even accidents still serve a purpose: they are reminders of life's frailty and unpredictability. Life is full of surprises. They come when we least expect them. There are events in our lives which we do not expect to possibly happen to us. In that accident, I thought I was already going to die, but it proved how much God loves me. God saved me from danger and He allowed me to recover fast. I do not know what is ahead of me but knowing that God is with me, it is enough to believe that all will turn out very well according to His plans.
In today's Gospel Jesus reminds us to be prepared, "for an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come" (cf. Matthew 24:44). With each passing day, I do not know what might happen to me next, but one thing is certain: The Son of Man, our Lord Jesus Christ will come.
