MANDALUYONG CITY, June 29 -- The Rotary Club of Metro Batangas and Rotary International donated a multi-purpose truck and a LED TV to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Batangas Chapter during a virtual turnover event via zoom on June 29 2021.

The PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon, PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla, the Board of Directors of PRC Batangas Chapter, the Mayor of Batangas City Hon. Beverley Dimacuha, the President of the Rotary Club of Metro Batangas Atty. Roel Garcia., Rotary Club Officers and International Partners attended the turnover event at 4pm.

According to PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon, the new multi-purpose truck will function as a mobile clinic. "The new truck is very beneficial in this time of the pandemic but will also be very useful even after the pandemic ends as the Chapter plans to use it as a mobile blood donation clinic," he added.

We from the Red Cross are indeed elated and very grateful for the support of Rotary Club of Metro Batangas and Rotary International," Gordon said.

The new multi-purpose truck will have four functions. First is to support the Molecular Laboratory as venue for mobile swabbing and saliva collection; second is to utilize and augment the local government unit in its efforts to the Covid-19 Vaccination; third is to mobilize for medical missions; and last is for mobile blood donation use.
