Boxer Nesthy Petecio displayed her world championship form after advancing to the Round of 16 in the women's featherweight division in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Saturday, July 24.

Petecio won via unanimous decision over Congo's Marcelat Sakobi Matshu, 5-0, to jumpstart her bid for the Olympic gold.

Four judges scored 30-27 for Petecio while one judge gave 29-28.

She will next face Chinese Taipei's Lin Yu-Ting, who won the bronze in the 2019 world championship. Petecio won the gold in that edition.
