Yulo, the floor exercise champion in the 2019 world championship in Stuttgart, Germany, was erratic in his routine marred with poor landings and missteps. He placed 44th in a field of 64 following a 13.566 score, outside the Top 8 that would make it to the finals in the apparatus. Israel's Artem Dolgopyat led the field with a 15.2, followed by the 15.066 of Russia's Nikita Nagornyy, whom Yulo was keeping an eye on. The Filipino, however, qualified in the finals of the vault after finishing sixth with a 14.712 score.
