Angel Manuel German Familia, 38, was recently arrested in Massachusetts, United States. Originally from the Dominican Republic, he previously resided in North Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts.

The Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force (DBFTF) of Homeland Security's Investigation conducted the investigation of the crime German Familia is accused of. On July 13, 2021, he was taken into custody and was charged with one count of false representation of a Social Security number and one count of aggravated identity theft.

After making an appearance before Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge M. Page Kelley, German Familia was held pending a hearing on deportation to the Dominican Republic. As early as 2009, he allegedly started using a U.S. citizen's name, date of birth and Social Security number.

The former North Andover resident is accused of using the stolen identity to fraudulently apply to renew a driver's license at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. He is also accused of applying for MassHealth benefits and opening bank accounts in the victim's name.

Professional ice hockey left winger Robert T. Farnham, 32, was born in North Andover. He  is currently playing for the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), which is headquartered in London, England, United Kingdom.
