MANILA, Philippines -- The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning against the purchase of US- manufactured drug, Kirkland Signature Vitamin C 1000mg, saying the drug has yet to register with the regulator.

The FDa released an advisory dated June 24 saying that its post-marketing surveillance activities verified that the product "has not gone through the registration process of the Agency and has not been issued with proper authorization in the form of Certificate of Product Registration."

Thus, the quality and safety of the United States-manufactured supplements cannot be guaranteed, the FDA noted.

"Consumption of such violative product may pose potential danger and injury to health," it added.

The regulator also warned those who continue to distribute the products that until it is granted proper authorization, sanctions will be filed.
