One of the hallmark characteristics of my wife's fellow Filipino is the so-called Pinoy pride.
But right now Italians are acting like Filipinos because Italy has just won the football European championship.
Somebody posted on his social media feed the words "we are the champions", at which I replied: "you mean to say THEY are the champions, I mean the players, they are the ones who won the trophy and earned more money on top of the millions they already have".
But, apparently, there are a lot of losers who feel as if they are winning at life because their team won the cup and this gives them the chance to sweep their lack of results under the rug...
I will never have an old age pension...but we scored!
