MANDALUYONG CITY, July 2 -- Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon immediately deployed PRC's Food Truck to provide hot meals to the residents of Batangas affected by the recent activity of Taal Volcano which was raised to alert status level 3.

PRC's food truck will go around the affected cities in ten days, capable of serving 300 individuals per day. This is part of the Welfare Services program "Hot Meals on Wheels" to provide ready-to-eat meals to people affected by disasters, calamities, and conflicts.

"Kaagad natin ipinadala ang ating Food Truck upang makapaghatid ng pagkain sa mga apektado na nasa evacuation centers," Gordon said.

Gordon also ordered the deployment of the PRC Batangas Chapter's 6x6 vehicle and two ambulance units to provide immediate support to affected areas.

"Patuloy ang pagbibigay tulong ng PRC sa Batangas at naapektuhang lugar. More help is on the way," Gordon added. (Philippine Red Cross)
