Actress Max Collins remains with GMA as she renewed her contract with the network on July 9.
Present during the virtual signing ceremony were GMA executive vice president and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, senior vice president for GMA Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, first vice president and head of Regional TV and Synergy Oliver B. Amoroso, first vice president for drama productions Redgie A. Magno, vice president for corporate affairs and communications Angel Javier Cruz, and Max's manager Perry Lansigan, among others.
In her journey with the network, Max has had her fair share of notable projects, including Pahiram ng Sandali, Ilustrado, Innamorata, Encantadia, The One That Got Away, Someone To Watch Over Me, Bihag, and Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday.
When asked what her secret was to keeping the fires burning in the industry for more than a decade now, Max shared the importance of respect: "Throughout the years, as a Kapuso, I've learned how important it is to give each project so much love, and how to give my coworkers, the staff, and the network the same respect I give my own family members."
She looks forward to growing more in her craft: "With the world seemingly so uncertain with all of the chaos happening, I'm even more grateful to be in the position that I am in in terms of my career. I've come a long way since the day I first started, and I'm proud of my achievements. A decade is a long time to be in one industry, and I'm excited to begin a new decade doing what I love most, which is acting."
Rasonable expressed her excitement for what's ahead of Max's career in GMA: "We are very happy that you love being a Kapuso because we also love having you here. We have always believed in your talent and of course, you are one of the most beautiful faces in entertainment. We are proud to have you here and we are excited to give you many more projects." Max is one of the lead stars in the upcoming drama series To Have and To Hold, where she will play Dominique Ramirez. She will be working alongside Rocco Nacino, Rafael Rosell and Carla Abellana.
Meanwhile, the network's digital TV receiver GMA Affordabox celebrates its first anniversary with lots of discounts and giveaways nationwide.
As thanksgiving for a successful first year, the receiver can be purchased at a special price of P799.20 in participating stores all over the country. More surprises will be waiting for buyers online, with the device becoming available on GMA Store (www.gmanetwork.com/gmastore) where they can enjoy more discounts and freebies.
Officially unveiled in June last year, GMA Affordabox was one of the network's 70th anniversary gifts to viewers and, at the same time, part of its initiatives to help bolster the country's shift from analog to digital broadcast.
GMA Affordabox gained phenomenal success with 1 million units sold in seven months. A year later, it now offers more digital channels and is accessible to more areas thanks to the network's continuous and efficient digital roll-out across the country.
The set-top box now has six GMA digital channels that viewers enjoy: GMA, GTV, Heart of Asia, Hallypop, DepEd TV, and I Heart Movies. It also has other free-to-air channels in digital broadcast available depending on their areas.
Apart from providing superior digital reception, GMA Affordabox also has unique features, such as Personal Video Recorder, which lets users record GMA programs or watch and rewatch highlights of the shows with instant or scheduled recording.
The device can also become a multimedia player through its USB port. It also has a nationwide Emergency Warning Broadcast System that receives alerts from the NDRRMC about any calamity warnings in their area as well as a functional auto-on alert feature.
