For the past month, I have been seeing patients with cases of rape and violence and I am inexplicably disgusted, mortified and dismayed.

I am utterly disgusted of men - of "people" who raped those pitiful children. Are they even considered "people" when they have acted on their instincts like any other animal? Those naïve children were traumatized - hurt down to the fibers of their core. Their innocence was stripped off. Their minds were catapulted into the abyss of hopelessness and deep shame. Just because somebody thought and acted like an animal.

I am mortified at how gruesome those acts were - at how they greedily forced their manhood into those small children's genitals. Bloody and grotesque even - for some who were sent into surgery for repair of lacerations. Why? How can those mortifying events happen to a naïve little child? They were just happily playing when a real life monster destroyed their dreamlands - turning reality into a nightmare. A nightmare that will forever haunt them.

I am dismayed. No. I am angry. I am dismayed and so angry because a lot of perpetrators get away with their evil acts. Many children are unable to speak up because of fear. Fuck. These abused children are the ones imprisoned because of their fear. It's their silent cry for help that I cannot bear. To my great dismay, the ones who should be incarcerated are free!

Maybe just maybe, if we teach our younger generations the essence of RESPECT and basic human DECENCY, things will be better.
