Eduardo Bonilla-Lopez, 18, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States has been arrested by the Oklahoma City Police Department. He was charged with murder in the first degree and kidnapping.

On July 4, 2021, Hailey Gonzalez, 17, of Oklahoma City told her mother Yvonne Turner she was going to the lake that day, according to the latter. Turner told KFOR, "She gave me a hug and a kiss and said I love you."

"That was it," Turner continued. "That was the last that I heard or seen from her."

.

That day, Gonzalez attended a party at Bonilla-Lopez's home and never returned home. A male witness person who also attended the party told authorities Bonilla-Lopez fatally shot someone that day.

According to the witness, he received a Facetime call that day from Bonilla-Lopez who was inside a vehicle asking for help dumping a body. The Facetime call allegedly showed Gonzalez with a gunshot wound to the head while in the front passenger seat bleeding, leaning over and trying to speak.

The witness claimed that he told Bonilla-Lopez to take Gonzalez to the hospital but Bonilla-Lopez refused because he did not want to go to prison. Later, Bonilla-Lopez called the witness again and told him he killed Gonzalez and dumped her body off.

When interviewed by detectives, Bonilla-Lopez confirmed the witness's statement about the Facetime call. Bonilla-Lopez confessed that he drove Gonzalez to another location with another person, who dumped the victim's body off.

The name of the second suspect has yet to be released. The Oklahoma City Police Department spokesperson told PEOPLE, "This is still an open investigation and our officers are working diligently to piece everything together."

On July 9, 2021, Bonilla-Lopez was arrested. A GoFundMe page was created for Gonzalez's family.
