MANILA, Philippines-- The Philippine passport was named as the 82nd most powerful passport out of 116 nations in the 2021 Henley Passport Index released this week.
The annual list made by London-based research firm Henley & Partners ranks all the world's passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
Asian nations Japan, Singapore, and South Korea secured the top 3 spots this year, while Afghanistan landed at the bottom.
Earlier this year, the country had a higher place, ranking 77th. For the past two years, it was in the 74th spot.
Philippine passport holders can access 66 travel destinations without a visa.
