Camp Major Bado, Dangwa La Trinidad, Benguet - Anti-narcotics operatives in Kalinga burned a total of 183,500 fully marijuana plants worth ₱ 36.7 million during an anti-illegal drugs operation in nine separate farms on Tuesday.
The farms were located in Barangays of Loccong and Butbut Proper in the Municipality of Tinglayan, the Philippine National Police Cordillera regional command said.
Reports from the operating troops submitted to the Regional Director, PBGen. Ronald Oliver Lee, disclosed that a total of 107,500 marijuana plants were discovered in three farms in barangay Loccong.
In Barangay Butbut Proper, operatives destroyed 76,000 pieces marijuana plants with of ₱ 15.2M planted in six plantation sites with 6,700 sqm land area.
All the discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while investigation is being conducted to disclose the identity of cultivators.
Personnel of Kalinga PPO, RIU-14, PDEA Kalinga and PDEG SOU 14 Kalinga launched the separate operations.
