At least 2,000 first responders, evacuees and residents in the towns surrounding Taal volcano were vaccinated against COVID-19 at the DREAM Zone Vaccination Hub of the Provincial Capitol Compound on Friday, July 16th.
Among those vaccinated were personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection - Batangas, and other first responders at evacuation sites throughout the province.
The vaccinated individuals have gone through, the thorough process of registration, screening and evaluation to ensure safe vaccination of evacuees and first responders who assisted in the relief operation in the areas affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano.
There has also been strict enforcement of standard public health protocols such as wearing a face mask and face shield, and maintaining physical distancing while vaccinating.
The Department of Health Center for Health and Development Region IV-A has provided approximately 10,000 vaccines against COVID-19 for vaccination.
Moreover, the government also sent additional healthcare worker to evacuation sites for the medical needs of the evacuees.
