ZAMBOANGA CITY -- One of the leading causes of road accidents is mechanical defect, according to the chief of Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Western Mindanao.
Lawyer Aminola "Alex" Abaton, LTO regional director for Western Mindanao (Region 9), said this could have been avoided if defects are detected early. "That is where the role of PMVIC (Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center) comes into play."
He said this during the inauguration ceremony of a Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center in the Municipality of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, last August 14, 2021.
Abaton is known for walking his talk on road safety. (TRS)
