TANZA, Cavite -- The  Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Cavite has linked an agrarian reform beneficiary organization (ARBO) to seven (7) institutional markets as part of their role under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program to mitigate hunger, provide food security, and reduce poverty in the country.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II James Arthur T. Dubongco said the Tres Cruses Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers Association, Inc.  (TCARBFAI) in  Tres Cruses, Tanza, Cavite have started delivering their agricultural produce to  the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Cavite City, BJMP-Dasmarinas, BJMP-Silang, BJMP-Trece Martires City, BJMP-Tanza, BJMP-City of Gen. Trias,  and the Mensch Fil-Am Corporation.

"The TCARBFAI became a vegetable consolidator for  upo, squash, sayote, sweet potato, alugbati, spinach, saluyot, sweet potato tops (green and red), chili leaves, horseradish, coriander, okra, banana (saba), papaya, onion, garlic, pechay, beans, puso ng saging, ginger, jackfruit, coconut and tomato," Dubongco said.

Dubongco disclosed the TCARBFAI has already sold a total of PhP134,114.50 worth of vegetables from March to August this year.

TCARBFAI  President Danilo Arnes commended and thanked the DAR and other involved national government agencies for implementing the EPAHP in the province.

 "The EPAHP helped us a lot as we were able to sell our vegetable products to these institutions. The DAR and other government agencies are in charge of the marketing of our products while we collect vegetables and other crops to be supplied to these institutional buyers," Arnes said.

EPAHP is where government institutions converged to help the agrarian reform  beneficiaries find steady markets for their produce to address the government's fight against hunger and poverty in the countryside. (DAR)
