The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government donated some 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine that arrived on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 from Abu Dhabi on board a Etihad Airways flight.

At the airport to welcome the arrival of the vaccines are Assistant Secretary Atty. Wilben M. Mayor, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP); Director Maria Soledad Antonio and Khalid Alhajeri, acting Charge d'Affairs, UAE Embassy in Manila.

The shipment was immediately transported to PharmaServ Express cold storage in Marikina City by refrigerated vans after the One Stop Shop of the Bureau of Customs-Naia issued a pre-arrival clearance for the shipment.

Aside from the 100,000 doses of the China-made Sinopharm vaccines, an additional 813,150 doses of US-made Pfizer is also scheduled to arrive later on Wednesday at the Terminal 3 from Covax Facility to be delivered by an Air Hong Kong DHL flight.

This brings the country's vaccines stock to almost 40 million doses.

Out of the 813,150 doses shipment of Pfizer, some 607,230 doses would go to the Department of Health (DOH) Manila, while the 102,920 doses will be flown to Davao by Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR1813 this Thursday morning.

The remaining 102,920 doses of Pfizer vaccines will be flown directly to Cebu by Air Hong Kong flight also on Wednesday, bringing the total of 813,150 doses of Pfizer.

Another two million doses of Sinovac vaccines are expected to arrive today, Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Naia terminal from Beijing, China.
