Barbie has been an icon in the toy industry for years. And we've seen her character evolve from being a sweet, supportive sister to Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea to taking on positions in politics, space discovery, and medicine. Mattel has really transformed her character to become a role model for children everywhere to look up to and be inspired by.

This time around, the toy brand spotlights versions of the popular doll as medical frontliners to honor the everyday heroes of this pandemic.

This doll line is part of the company's Thank You Program to help medical employees during this trying time. That being said, Mattel will donate 5 USD (around 262.68 PHP) for every Barbie EMT, Nurse, and Doctor doll purchased in US Target stores, from August 1 to 28, 2021, to the First Responder's Children's Foundation.

Additionally, according to the news report of Business Wire, the brand's new lineup of dolls will feature real-life medical heroes like Amy O' Sullivan, Professor Sarah Gilbert, and Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa.

It even includes Dr. Audrey Sue Cruz, a Filipino-American Internal Medicine Physician.

And to medical frontliners everywhere, we thank you for your hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to take care of all of us!
