ILIGAN CITY -- The Land Transportation Office in Zamboanga Peninsula or Region 9 (LTO-9) has lately taken a serious stand in dealing with the so-called 'Online Fixing' in government service after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between LTO-9 and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Unit 9 in Zamboanga City late last month.
LTO-9 Regional Director Aminola "Alex" Abaton said this is a manifestation of the commitment that both agencies have to address the issue of online fixing as he shed light on the significance of the MOU.
Lawyer Abaton said, "This is not only a challenge in LTO but also in other frontline services to intensify their efforts in putting an end to online fixing services."
He said online fixing should never be patronized because not only does it increase the risk for getting fake documents but also defeats the purpose of why we came with a new guidelines in acquiring a driver's license.
Abaton said, "We in LTO only want to ensure that only qualified drivers get their licenses and there is no shortcut for that."
Abaton is an strong advocate of road safety to minimize traffic accidents in the country
