Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City - PNP Caraga apprehended today a 17-years-old suspect in the attempted murder of his friend after the local court ordered his arrest.

According to Police Regional Office 13 Regional Director Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT JR., the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Regional, Branch 55 in Trento, Agusan del Sur issued a warrant of arrest for attempted murder on July 7, 2021 to a minor living in Purok 1, Barangay Patrocino, Sta Josefa town of Agusan del Sur.

The accused had a misunderstanding with the victim and as a result the accused hit the victim with a stone in his head on December 29, 2020 in Purok 2 of said barangay.

The local court recommends bail of ₱ 36,000 for the accused temporary liberty.

During the arrest, he was informed by the apprehending officers led by Officer in Charge of Sta Josefa Municipal Police Station PLT. RICKY D. RAMOS the cause of his arrest, constitutional rights embodied by the Miranda Doctrine and Anti-torture Law in the dialect that he can understood.

"The arrest of wanted persons is part of the PNP's anti-criminality campaign, which aims to reduce crime and improve public safety," says PBGEN. CARAMAT JR.

The accused who is listed top six in the Enhanced Managing Police Operations in Municipal Level is now detained at the Women and Children Protection Desk Section of Sta Josefa Municipal Police Station pending turn-over to Municipal Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition.
