Malacanang on Monday wished Manila Mayor Isko Moreno well after the local executive tested positive for COVID-19.
"We wish Mayor Isko Moreno good health and we hope he gets well soon," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
Moreno, who has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is presently confined at Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila after exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms such as cough and body pain.
Roque, however, stressed that all COVID-19 vaccines are effective in preventing severe COVID-19 and death due to COVID-19.
"The mayor's case will only be moderate because he is already vaccinated," Roque added.
Last week, President Rodrigo Duterte questioned the moral ascendancy of a local official who has a bikini photo posted in Facebook.
The President did not name names but Moreno was a former underwear model and actor long before he was elected as public official.
Malacanang however denied that Duterte attacked Moreno when the former questioned the moral ascendancy of someone, who has sexy photos, to lead the country. --KG, GMA News
