Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte headed by the Station Commander CG CDR. ELAINE R. PANGILINAN strictly implemented in the AOR the recently issued Executive Order No. 21-029 series of 2021 otherwise known as "An Order Imposing Stricter Temporary Measures to Travelers Going to or Passing through the Province of Surigao del Norte as well as Temporary Prohibition of Face to Face Meetings, Trainings, and Seminars last Wednesday, 11 August 2021.

During the implementation, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) together with Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Philippine National Police (PNP), PNP Maritime Group and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Surigao City conducted verification of the necessary documentary requirements of the authorized passengers which are exempted on the travel restriction such as individuals qualified as Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) and Rolling Cargoes carrying essential goods upon arrival at Surigao Baseport and Lipata Port.

The enforcement of the new Executive Order went successful with the assistance of other PCG units from Cebu and Southern Leyte respectively whom religiously screened and inspect the pertinent requirements from the point of origin prior boarding the vessels.

CG CDR. PANGILINAN underscored that PCG in Surigao del Norte will rigorously enforce whatever Executive Orders which purpose is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 particularly Delta Variants to the Province of Surigao del Norte in order to protect the health and lives of every Surigaonons.

On the other hand, CG CDR. PANGILINAN sternly ordered the Shipping Companies to conscientiously adhere in the newly issued Executive Order and further reminded their respective obligations to avoid sanctions in accordance with the existing pertinent laws, rules and regulations.
