The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) established registration centers to 11vof the 17 municipalities in the province of Aklan, to enable Aklanons to register with the Philippine Identification System.
According to Engr. Antonet Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA-Aklan, the towns are the following: Altavas, Batan, Buruanga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Malay, Madalag, Makato, Nabas, Numancia and Tangalan.
It is also expected that the establishment of the center, will be coordinated with the local governments in order to improve its services to the residents.
The registration centers in the towns will entertain first, those from the sample barangays whose details are available when the PSA staff visited their homes back in January and April this year.
Since the beginning of registration for the Philippine ID System, a total of 32,991 people have been registered.
According to PSA-Aklan, Kalibo has three registration centers located at City Mall, Kalibo; Osmena Avenue, in the municipal hall.
