THE 2nd Philippine University Swimming League (PUSL), the qualifying tournament to the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu, China, will be held later this year. The three-day event is being organized by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP), the national university sports federation recognized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). FAC Chairnan Allan D. Soria said the PUSL will be held to determine the country's representatives in swimming in the Universiade scheduled June 26, 2022 –July 7, 2022. The event will also determine the coubtry's representatiives to the 20th ASEAN University Games, which will be held from July 26, 2022 – August 6, 2022. The tentative venue for the event is the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) on Dec. 15 to 17, 2021. Soria, also the sports director of the Technological University of the Philippines, thanked TUP President, Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres and BPSU president Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis and sports director Dr. Romeo Nisay for supporting thecompetitions. Assisting Soria is FAC Region director and BPSU swimming head coach Francis V. Gallardo. As host, BPSU will provide the Olympic-size swimming pool as the venue for the competition. BPSU will also provide dormitories with affordable costs for athletes, coaches, and officials. The competition's designated officiating officials for the league will be compensated using the registration fee and sponsors. Newly-elected FESSAP president, Edwin C. Fabro hhas acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Torres (TUP), Dr. Rodis (BPSU), and Soria in promoting the student-athletes to be active in sports. Graham Lim
