DAP, LGU Tagum ink partnership for skills training with P4.7M fund
Scaling up education services during this time of pandemic, the Alternative Learning System - Education and Skills Training (ALS-EST) program of the Department of Education (DepEd) through the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) joined forces with the City Government of Tagum for the intensified implementation of the program in Tagum City dubbed as Project EMWYS (Empowering Men, Women, Youth and Senior Citizen) with a grant of P4.7 million, according to a report of the City Information Office of Tagum.
Sealing the partnership via a virtual signing ceremony on August 2, 2021 through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that includes a funding of Php 4,724,300.00 donated to the LGU Tagum and targeting a total of 150 Tagumenyo enrollees for school year 2021-2022. Learners will undergo 10 months of Basic Secondary Education under the Alternative Learning System of DepEd Tagum City Division, and 3 months for Skills Training.
The virtual MOA signing ceremony takes place at the AVR of the New City Hall of Tagum. The partnership for the skills training includes a grant of P4,724,300.00 that will be donated to the local government of Tagum for the scholarship program under the Alternative Learning System - Education and Skills Training (ALS-EST).
The beneficiaries will not just learned basic academic education but will also acquire technical competencies suitable for immediate employment which is aligned to the present administration's EAGLE WINGS Program of the city placing education among its priority programs.
