The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Tuesday disclosed that it is proposing over P15 billion budget for fiscal year 2022.
During the briefing of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, Rosalina Constantino, TESDA executive director, said the agency's proposed budget for 2022 is 5% higher than the amount given on the 2021 General Appropriations Act, which is P14,464,356.
The agency is proposing a P15,768,758,978 for 2022.
"We are looking forward to the increase of this budget for 2022 to help build the long-term resilience of our countrymen and help prepare our workers for the constantly evolving world of work in this age of technological transformation," Constantino said.
The proposed budget is divided into two tiers. The first tier amounts to P13.736 billion while the second tier has a total of P2.032 billion.
According to Constantino, TESDA is seeking an additional budget to finance their programs. --KBK, GMA News
