Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live as a fairy? Do you imagine you would live in the middle of a forest or inside the hollow of a tree? And do you see little mini wooden furniture scattered about the place?

If so, you're not alone in thinking this. A lot of people like to pretend fairies exist by creating mini fairy gardens and dioramas that feature the cute, woodsy living spaces of these pint-sized creatures.

But this artist from Colombo, Sri Lanka, takes fairy home-making up a notch by designing intricate worlds inside nut shells.

30-year-old Pearl Cherin has been an avid fan of fairies growing up and this is what inspired her to create these miniature rooms

"I have been in love with fairies since I was a kid. I used to search for [these] little people inside bushes when–I think that's [what] inspired me a lot [to make these miniature figures]," she tells Say Philippines. "Apart from that, I love the idea of capturing everything inside a small nutshell."

These mini worlds take Cherin at least four days to make but the results are simply breathtaking, just take a look at these…

Cherin sells these miniatures through her Etsy shop and fans of her work can stay updated on her new projects via her Instagram.
