On August 5, 2021, he and his subordinates namely police major Rawirot Ditthong, police captain Songyot Khlainak, police senior sergeant major Wisut Bunkhiew, police senior sergeant major Suphakon Nimchuen, deputy chief police investigator Thoranin Matwanna and former police officer Pawikon Khammarew allegedly tortured and killed Chiraphong Thanapat, then 24, in Nakhon Sawan. According to a junior policeman, Thanapat and his girlfriend, who were arrested with over 100,000 methamphetamine tablets, had agreed to pay 1 million baht ($41,870) for their release, which was demanded by him and his six subordinates. However, he allegedly ordered his subordinates to cover Thanapat's head with a plastic bag and beat Thanapat until Thanapat agreed to pay 2 million baht ($83,740) . When the subordinates complied, leading to Thanapat's death, he allegedly told the subordinates to take the corpse to the hospital and tell the doctor the cause of death was drug overdose.
  7. On August 24, 2021, he was dismissed from his position as the superintendent of Muang police station. He, Ditthong, Khlainak, Bunkhiew, Nimchuen, Matwanna and Khammarew were each charged with dereliction of duty, torture and murder.

  9. He was 39 years old when he was declared a fugitive on August 25, 2021. On the same day, Thailand's national police chief Suwat Jangyodsuk ordered him, Matwanna, Ditthong, Khlainak, Bunkhiew, Nimchuen and Khammarew to be dismissed from the police force.
  10. On August 26, 2021, he and Matwanna were still at large while Ditthong, Khlainak, Bunkhiew, Nimchuen and Khammarew were already arrested and detained.
