A child, 13, was shot twice during an attempted robbery on Cover Lane near Melissa, Collin County, Texas, United States on August 24, 2021. The police officers who used a tourniquet to save the child's life.

Bawi Mang Bik, 18, Zenzele Zayvion Dube, 18, and Cung Liann Hup, 18, were identified as the suspects who committed the attempted robbery and shot the child. It was not confirmed whether or not the three suspects are all Melissa residents.

Bik, Dube and Hup have been arrested. They were each charged with aggravated robbery, engaging in organized criminal activity and injury to a child.

Hup was also charged with drug possession and evading arrest. His bail was set at $465,000.

Bail was set at $450,000 for Bik. He and Hup were booked into the Denton County Jail in Denton, Texas.

Dube was also charged with drug possession. He remained in custody at the Collin County Jail in McKinney, Texas on September 2, 2021.

"I'm extremely proud of my deputies for their dogged determination and the relentless pursuit as they coordinated with the Lewisville Police Department and agents from Homeland Security Investigations to track down and arrest the criminals who attempted to rob and then shot this child," Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner stated. He did not explain what led the deputies to Bik, Dube and Hup.
