Davao Army Reservists renews life insurance for second year

On its second year now, the Davao Army reservists will continue to be covered by a life insurance from the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) which includes Covid 19-related claims.

According to Col Isidro T Ungab GSC PA (RES), Brigade Commander of the 2202nd Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade (2202RRIBde), about 164 reservists who are active and on duty in the health facilities and vital installations in the city are given extra protection through this. "We thought of insuring our troops at the height of the pandemic since they were deployed in the different areas and exposed to help our government enforce health and safety protocols", Col Ungab said. We wanted to give them protection because they are doing extra-ordinary service to our country. They are volunteers and do not receive any compensation from our government and we believe this will encourage them to continue, he added.

Capt Earle D Ferrer Jr PA (RES), the Civil Military Operations Officer of the 2202RRIBde, officially turned over to the AFPMBAI the list of the Army reservists to be insured from the 2202RRIBde and the 1105th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion.# EDF Inset photo by Cpl Oliver Barry D Sollano PA (RES) Delta Sniper CmoTeam

Meanwhile, Ungab said the reservists from the 2202nd RRIB and the 1105th RRIB are silently working to augment our troops since the start of the pandemic. We are at the airport, the tent village, the streets, the checkpoints, the public markets and in places of religious worship as multiplier force of the AFP.

"We are all doing this voluntarily without pay, inspired by the spirit of patriotism, serving both God and country."Col. Ungab said.
