CALOOCAN (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Monday, September 27, said that the agency eyes limited operations for gyms in Metro Manila even under Alert Level 4.
"Sa Level 3 allowed po iyan. Ang pinag-uusapan na lang natin dito ay sa Level 4 ay kung maisama siya sa isa sa—parang dine-in at personal care services na limitahan ang operation nito sa Level 4," Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said in a press briefing.
The pandemic task force and the technical working group are currently studying DTI's proposal to reopen gyms at a limited capacity.
"Ang sinasabi rin natin dito sa sektor na ito, as much as possible, mag-develop kayo ng outdoor activity na pang-exercise na gym," Lopez said.
The DTI chief stated that this sector is essential since this will somehow help boost the people's immunity.
"Iyong virus is here to stay, so we should manage how to function in a very safe manner can save small businesses and jobs at isa pa matagal na po silang sarado," Lopez added. (JMB/PIA-IDPD)
