QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion, on Tuesday, September 28, announced the private sector's request to downgrade NCR to Alert Level 3 for the fourth quarter of 2021.

"Alam naman natin sa fourth quarter talagang puedeng magbawi ang mga negosyante sa mga lugi nila… tataas ang consumer spending dahil sa Christmas," Concepcion said in a press briefing.

He also urged the government's pandemic task force to downgrade NCR from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 to allow indoor business transactions for unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals.

Concepcion said guidelines have to be consistent and extend privileges for the fully vaccinated across all alert levels as the goal is to reopen the economy safely.

"Siguro dapat, consistent application in Level 3 for fully vaccinated para puwede na nating buksan ang economy at baka puwede pang itaas iyong capacity para sa mga negosyante; hindi lang 30%," he said.

With the remaining three months of the last quarter, Concepcion said businesses need to recover their losses to fund the 13-month pay of their employees.

As of September 27, the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard Data shows 23,777,705 individuals received their first dose, and 20,583,580 are fully vaccinated. Overall, there are 44,361,285 total doses administered in the country. (MCDS/PIA-IDPD)
