Local government units in Metro Manila will be the ones to decide regarding allowing minors outdoors under Alert Level 3, an official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Friday.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III said this is based on the guidelines for areas under Alert Level 3, in this case the National Capital Region.

"Generally, papayagan po yan so depende na po 'yan sa NCR mayors [it is allowed so it will depend on the NCR mayors]," he said.

He added that he asked Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos to have the NCR mayors discuss the matter as Alert Level 3 is already set to be imposed on Saturday.

According to Densing, the NCR mayors are divided on allowing minors outside their residences under Alert Level 3.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) on Wednesday approved placing NCR under Alert Level 3 beginning Oct. 16 until Oct. 31, 2021. --KBK, GMA News
