MANILA -- As part of its support to the national vaccination program of the government, the Bureau of Customs - Port of NAIA faciltiated the expeditious release of 3,522,440 doses of Moderna and 661,100 doses AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for the Department of Health (DOH) on October 08 and 09, 2021.

On October 08, Friday, 2,159,140 Moderna and 661,100 AstraZeneca doses, which were pre-cleared through the BOC-NAIA COVID-19 One-Stop-Shop, arrived via China Airlines CI701 at Terminal 1 of NAIA. The 11 pallets of Moderna and 4 pallets of AstraZeneca were loaded to 8 reefer trucks and were transported to Zuellig Pharma Inc. while being underguarded  by the Customs-NAIA CoVax Task Force.

On October 09, a shipment of 1,363,300 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines arrived via Flight CI703 at Terminal 1 of NAIA, and was escorted by the NAIA task force and other enforcement agencies upon immediate transfer to the Zuellig Pharma Inc. in Paranaque City. Eight (8) vaccine brands with more than 84 million total doses were processed and cleared by the Bureau of Customs, including 41.5M Sinovac, 10.26M AstraZeneca, 18.93M Pfizer, 8.65M Moderna, 3.24M Johnson & Johnson, 570K Sputnik V, 100K Hayat-Vax, 1M Sinopharm jabs.

The Bureau of Customs with the direction of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, and the Port of NAIA, headed by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan continue to ensure that time-sensitive vaccine shipments are given priority and expedited clearance to support the government in ramping up its national inoculation program and protecting the Filipinos against COVID-19.
