MANILA -- The Philippines' national vaccination program achieved another milestone, as 80,415,200 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been delivered to the country as of October 6, 2021.

According to National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, the country expects to receive a total of 100 million doses by this month since the vaccine shipments started to arrive in February.

For October, 10 million procured Pfizer vaccines, 5 million doses from Moderna, 10 million doses from Sinovac, and 5.9 million doses donated by the US government through the COVAX facility are scheduled to be delivered.

Galvez said the national government is now in talks with four other vaccine manufacturers in line with its efforts to secure 90 to 100 COVID-19 vaccine doses for 2022. (National Task Force against COVID-19)
