THE Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) "Usapang Sports on Air" via Zoom resumes Thursday with wushu, basketball and powerlifting taking center stage.
Southeast Asian Games 2019 wushu double gold medalist Agatha Wong, Gilas Pilipinas women's basketball standout Ella Patrice Fajardo and Powerlifting Association of the Philippines president Eddie Torres will talk about their respective sports during the 10 a.m. program.
Wong, the 23-year-old graduate of La Sallw-College of St. Benilde, will discuss her gold-medal winning performance and the Philippines' fourth-place finish in the recent Asian Traditional Online Wushu Competition.
Fajardo, the 18-year-old Fililipino- American sensation from New Jersey, will talk about her debut for the Philippine team in the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup in India and 3x3 team in FIBA 3x3 U18 Asia Cup in Malaysia and FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Mongolia.
Torres will talk about the recent campaign of the Philippine Powerlifting Team in Halmstad, Sweden.
Led by Joyce Gail Reboton and Veronica Ompod, the Filipinos bagged four golds, two silvers and five bronzes.
TOPS president Ed Andaya of People's Tonight is inviting all officers and members to attend the weekly public service program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
TOPS is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country's leading national tabloids and friends from different social media groups.
This is the 124th episode of the TOPS "Usapang Sports" since its formal launch at the National Press Club in 2018 and its 66th edition since turning to a new platform due to the pandemic.
