QUEZON CITY -- In efforts to mitigate climate change and soften its negative environmental impacts and consequences, a leading group of women scientists and engineers are acting to become part of the solution to the global phenomenon.
More than fifty (50) members of the Women Engineers Network of the Philippine Technological Council led the tree planting activity held at the SCTEX - New Clark City Cloverleaf in Capas, Tarlac on October 9, 2021.
The tree planting is part of the three-day program of activities of International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists Conference collocated with the 5th Philippine Women Engineers Summit (PWES5) held at the Royce Hotel from October 7 to 9. The tree planting activity is aligned with the summit's theme, "Women Engineers and Scientists: Catalysts to Climate Action."
One hundred fifty (150) molave saplings were planted by participants including the winners of the Lakambining Inhinyera 2021, a beauty pageant among representatives from different engineering societies in the Philippines.
