President Rodrigo Duterte will wait for the advice of his physician on whether he should get a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the Palace said Tuesday.

"Iyong kung tatanggap ba siya, isasapubliko ba ang additional or booster shots ay that's actually between the President and his personal physician so abangan na lang po natin kung ano maging advice ng kanyang personal physician (On whether the President will get a booster shot, the President will wait for his physician's advice)," acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said.

On Monday, November 22, the Philipine government launched its coronavirus booster campaign for senior citizens aged 60-years-old and above in addition to health workers who are already fully vaccinated for six months or more.

Duterte completed his two-dose Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine last July 12.

An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after getting the last COVID-19 vaccine dose.

Nograles, however, could not say if the President will cut down on his public appearances pending administration of a booster shot.

"Iyong pag-iikot niya, abangan na lang po natin kung ano iyong magiging--ang lalabas 'no doon sa kaniyang schedule at Appointments Office (On his public appearances, let us just wait for the information from the appointment's office)," Nograles added.--LDF, GMA News
