QUEZON CITY -- Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Nueva Vizcaya recently turned over a total of Php 120,000.00 worth of Community-Managed Potable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (CP-WASH) project to provide clean water, adequate and potable sanitation services to the processing center of the 200 agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB) members of the Casat Rural Workers Association Inc. (CRUWAI).

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Saturnino B. Bello said the CP-WASH is composed of an iron removal filter, water collector, and bio-sand filter.

"Mabuhay ang CRUWAI, mabuhay and Barangay Casat! Your organization is lucky to be the recipient of the CPWASH project. It's not the amount that matters but the benefit that it can bring to the communities especially to our agrarian reform beneficiaries and to the residents of the barangay," Bello said.

The ceremonial turnover of Community-Managed Potable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (CP-WASH) project to the ARBOs of  Nueva Vizcaya.

He disclosed that this project would be replicated and adopted in other barangays and local government unit (LGU) to extend the opportunity to other agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) in different areas.

ARBO President Elvie Fulgencio expressed her gratitude to Bayombong Mayor  Ralph Lantion and to DAR Acting Secretary Bernie Cruz, Cagayan Valley Regional Director Samuel Solomero, PARPO II Saturnino Bello, and to all officials who contributed to the completion of the project.

Before the turn-overn DAR-Nueva Vizcaya CP-WASH point person Engr. Ronald John Celestino has conducted training on water bacteriology and sanitation to the officers and members of the CRUWAI to capacitate and educate them to practice good hygiene and sustainability of the project. (DAR)
