More than 100 overseas Filipino workers with mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases will be quarantined at the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital in Luneta, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said Friday.

"ito po ay itinatag, itinayo, alang-alang po sa ating mga pasyente, alang-alang po sa ating mga OFWs na about 104 of them have arrived and will be accommodated in this first class isolation facility," Duque said during his visit to the 344-bed hospital.

(This was built for patients, for OFWs; 104 of them have arrived and will be accommodated in this first-class isolation facility.)

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno assured that the local government would do its best to make the OFWs comfortable during their stay. Doctors and nurses are on standby while wifi and meals are available free of charge, he said.

"We will do our best to make them comfortable as much as possible," he added.

Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano said a similar facility in the city will open next week.

"We'll just study some of the mechanisms and partnership being done by [the] BOQ (Bureau of Quarantine), the DOH, and Manila, and by Monday or Tuesday, Taguig will open as well," he said. -- VBL, GMA News
