MANILA, Philippines -- Manila Mayor and Presidential Aspirant Isko Moreno Domagoso lent his voice to call the attention of the Insurance Commission to speed up its action to help Odette victims process their insurance claims.

The Insurance Commission is a government agency under the Department of Finance that oversees and regulates life and non-life companies, mutual interest associations, and charitable trusts.

"Nananawagan ako sa Insurance Commission na pabilisin yung claim ng insurance kasi kailangan nila doon ng panggastos sa mga biktima ng Bagyong Odette sa Visayas" Moreno said in an interview.

"Yung kanilang mga bahay at negsosyo ay wasak, kaya kailangan maging mabilis ang aksyon ng mga insurance company sa claim, yung gobyerno na ating inaasahan dapat mabilis ang kilos" he added.

Moreno stated that the insurance claims would be a huge help to rebuild destroyed homes and retrieve the livelihoods of the affected residents.

The Mayor of Manila emphasized that the government should always have a program ready to assist citizens in the event of an emergency or disaster such as Typhoon Odette.
