The epidemic brought about several changes in our life. It kept us from doing many of our favorite things, like traveling, watching movies in a theater, watching live sports in an arena, and eating at a restaurant. On the plus side, while the pandemic slowed our lives, it also provided us with the opportunity to learn a new skill, in our case, cooking!
We had always wanted to learn to cook but never had the chance before the pandemic and lockdowns. The former and latter gave us some free time and helped us decide to make major change careers. This move then provided us with adequate time to learn how to cook and prepare the meals that we had longed wished to try.
Learning a new talent is not as straightforward as it appears. It takes some legwork and study, as well as some trial and error and patience. Our cooking adventure will be difficult since we will need to learn a lot via self-study but we were fortunate to come across certain websites that aided our culinary adventure by making it more enjoyable.
What we love about this website is their Recipe Ingredient Conversion Calculator where it allows us to enter the value to be converted and then choose the unit to be converted to. With Culinary School.Org's Recipe Ingredient Conversion Calculator we can easily convert between:
teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, and milliliters
cup, teacups, glasses, fluid ounces
cup to wine glass & shot glass to the ounce
liters and gallons
kilos and pounds
Kilojoules and calories
This website also has granular calculators for spoons, cups, and ounces, alcohol-related measurements, gallons and liters, energy units, and weight units. Plus, they provide a handy conversion chart table that we use as a guide for easy measuring (cup, ounces, milliliters, and teaspoon), temperature (Fahrenheit and Celcius), and weight (imperial and metric) conversion.
They also have blogs where we can get ideas and tips on the best foods to have or prepare for events, knife skills, and things we should know and have an idea if we want to level up our cooking skills to a profession or learn about culinary arts from its history, types of major, types of chef career, and schools where we can enroll.
This website also has over 150 online games to assist youngsters to learn about food, farming, cooking, the culinary arts, the restaurant industry, and hospitality-related vocations.
In this game, players must watch the temperature of each pot and modify it as needed to boil eggs in numerous pots at the same time. The game appears simple at first glance, but as the level or pots rise, you will undoubtedly panic. Focus is the key to winning this game.
The player is in charge of running a grocery shop, which includes replenishing produce, growing the range of commodities sold, and checking out customers. As you go through the game, you will be able to unlock various displays.
A lunch counter game in which you fire food at clients before they reach the counter. To play the game, use the left and right arrow keys to move left and right, the spacebar to shoot food, and the B key to swap ammunition between burgers, sticky, pickler, and fry-bye.
Stack ingredients according to the order mentioned creating a superb made-to-order burger in 10 to 15 seconds. When you're through completing the ingredient list, click the "serve now" option under the burger to give it to the client. To stack the ingredients in the right sequence, they must be added from bottom to top.
Learning new skills is fun especially if you find a website that can provide your needs and at the same time play while learning!
