The newly-launched Birdwatching circuit at the Paoay Lake National Park in Ilocos Norte, can now be enjoyed by bird-enthusiasts.

This new attraction is part of the Department of Tourism's (DOT) Region One's regionwide project "Find the One in Region One" which aims to boost tourism in the region despite the pandemic.

The peaceful surroundings of Paoay Lake are frequented by migratory and endemic or local birds, so the lake has great potential for birdwatching.

DOT-RO1 birdwatchers, on the other hand, announced the various types of birds they saw in Ilocos Norte.

Just a few of these are The Great Cormorant, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Eurasian Duck, Brahminy Kite, Gray Heron, Long-tailed Shrike, Spotted wood kingfisher, Rofous Horbill, Philippine Duck, Philippine Falconet, and Philippine Serpent Eagle.

The Birdwatching circuit at Paoay Lake National Park is also open for birdwatching tourists. DOT RO1 and the provincial government of Ilocos Norte hope that this will not only serve as an attraction but also a reminder for the appreciation of nature conservation in the province.
