OCTA Research Senior Fellow Dr. Guido David said the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic is over for now, but Filipinos should not be too complacent as risks still exist.

"Technically, we can say the worst is over for now, but things can still change -- we can't guarantee anything. Right now we are seeing good numbers but the risk is still there -- it is at low risk, but not zero risk," he said in an interview with DZMM Teleradyo on Sunday.

David advised those who are qualified to get their booster dose.

He warned that the country could again be vulnerable to a Covid-19 surge by April or May, around three months since the Omicron surge in January. He said that resurgence from the Omicron variant is possible, although it has not yet been observed in the country.

David urged Filipinos to continue observing health and safety protocols to prevent the further transmission of the virus even if Covid-19 cases have declined.
