Discovering a hobby has a beneficial impact on both physical and mental well-being. There has been a lot of research confirming that engaging in an undertaking being done regularly in one's leisure time has advantages that extend for hours, days, and even years beyond the actual time it takes to complete the activity.
One benefit could be to divert your attention from life stressors and another is the idea that it opens you up to think more creatively. In connection to the latter, I guess the best combination is a hobby where you can create something new to you.
Few months ago, I have mentioned that I am yet to finish a beanie and promised that I will share to you this newly found interest that captures most of my time. Since we just concluded our Sagada trip last week, I am excited to show to you how it looks like.

The idea of doing this crochet thing started from the time I read Kris' blog, I think, sometime 2020, if I'm not mistaken. But the actual purchase of supplies and the watching of how-to videos in Youtube all transpired in November of the following year.
My first product was a beanie, which I have gifted to my niece for her 18th birthday in Tagaytay (aside from the "pm gcash number" that she loved the most. haha). After that, I was able to create cellphone pouches, headbands, and more beanies for myself and for others.

Another benefit of this hobby, particularly to me, is the fact that since my hands were tied to the hook and yarn while watching some US Live selling, hindi ako basta-basta maka-mine. Hahaha.
Pabilisan sa pag-mine. Palagi akong nauunahan. Therefore, laking tipid. Hahahaha.
Each time I completed an item, it gives pleasure within. I always have this feeling of fulfillment with the idea that I am productive and I can see the actual result of my efforts. Most importantly, these pieces brought smile to my loved ones. 'Yun talaga ang panalo sa lahat.

I read somewhere that there's no greater joy in life than the joy of creating something, and in my story, it became more meaningful because I created some things for others as well.
