When 2022 started, I promised myself that I'd get out of this elusive blogger funk. I've missed going out and writing about new places & this is just a second entry since. Last weekend, my friends and I decided to check out a newly opened cafe in Ma-a, Caru Cafe.
They only opened on April 28 and we were eager to try their menu items. I saw their dishes on an Instagram story the day they opened and knew I wanted to try their chicken. Unfortunately, when we went there it was already sold out. However, we still tried their Potato Wedges, Prawn Toast, and Fried Oreos. We also tried their drinks and I got their Caramel Macchiato.
Looking for a place to park was a bit of a challenge as the cafe is located just by the road in Ma-a. The cafe was a cozy little place that offered both indoor dining and al fresco. I like how homey the space felt and I liked their decor.
The food was great. As expected, we loved the fried oreos. The potato wedges were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My friend said that the Prawn Toast was perfectly paired with their sauce. I really wish we could've tried their chicken, garlic bread, and nachos, though. Maybe next time!
Caru Cafe is located in Km. 5 Plariza Compound, Ma-a Rd, Davao City. They are open on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9 AM - 9 PM. Here are their Facebook and Instagram pages.
