Every Friday, in Angeles City, Pampanga, people usually line up to the image of Apung Mamacalulu (Christ, Our Lord of the Holy Sepulchre) both in the Holy Rosary Parish and in the Archdiocesan Shrine.These people bring with them their prayers. They line up so that they can touch the image of Apu. There are a lot of stories of answered prayers, and people usually return to give thanks for the petitions that were granted.
In the Gospel today, we see Jesus healing people and we also see how people reacted to Him. They were amazed at the wonders He worked for them. What was also striking was how Jesus' heart was moved with pity for the people. He saw how they needed his healing touch. Perhaps this is the challenge of Jesus for all of us today, that we should completely trust in Him, and let our hearts be touched by Him. We should continue to trust in Him even amidst the sufferings and problems we experience in our daily lives.
May we be persistent in our prayers and allow Him to touch and heal us. As Padre Pio said, "Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear our prayer." Let us only rely on God's merciful help and healing touch and continue to pray and hope that He will grant what He wills for all of us.

Today's Gospel
MT 9:32-38
A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus,
and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke.
The crowds were amazed and said,
"Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."
But the Pharisees said,
"He drives out demons by the prince of demons."
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
and curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest."
