"If you can dream it, you can do it," said the famous Walt Disney quote. And a Filipina based in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada is a living proof to this as she 'visualized' her dream car, worked hard, and finally got it nearly 12 years later.
In 2010, Racz Kelly passed by a car and thought of having the same kind someday.
In a Facebook post, she recalled how she determined she was going to make it happen, "November 2010, nadaanan ko itong convertible car, sabi ko sa caption, 'Someday, I'll have this. I'll make it happen.'"
Fast forward, she is now working as a full-time salesperson, real estate investor, and a digital content creator in Canada—and the demands of her busy life as a superwoMOM require a new car that she can use whenever she needs to.
"This month, I was hired as a salesperson.
With this, she started browsing cars online. While looking at some second-hand vehicles, she saw a familiar car, and thought of the dream she had many years back. But then, as a mom who values "needs" more than "wants", she was hesitant at first.
"'Di ko talaga target na bilhin," she said.
However, when she checked the price, she found out that the car was actually being sold below its market value as no one from the owner's family members will be using it now. Aside from this, they also have two cars now but only one can fit in their garage.
After a few more considerations, Racz finally purchased her dream car as a birthday gift and a reward for herself.
Then kanina, tumawag yung seller, binababaan pa lalo. Kumita pa tayo," she said.
At knowing me and my husband, practical kami at 'di talaga bibili ng ganito. Pero ayon, after a bunch of reading/research (price, fuel efficiency, reliability, and parts availability), binili namin ito. This would be my advance birthday gift/reward for having a new job. #FirstCar na ako ang pumili."
See? Hang on to your dream. Visualize it and in the near future, you'll have it!
