Rape and Acts of Lasciviousness vs. "Mr. Suave"

THE Court of Appeals (CA) has directed Taguig City Prosecutor's Office file rape and acts of lasciviousness charges against actor Ferdinand "Vhong" Navarro.
The superior court's order reversed and set aside earlier ruling by the Department of Justice dismissing the complaint filed against Vhong.
The issue stemmed from the complaint filed by Deniece Milinette Cornejo who alleged that the actor-comedian and TV host raped her.
Deniece, in her modified complaint, alleged that Vhong raped her on January 17, 2014 during their first meeting.
The complaint was dismissed by the DOJ citing "major inconsistencies" in the complaint filed against the actor-comedian known also as "Mr. Suave".
The camp of Deniece has appealed DOJ ruling and on July 21, CA handed down its decision setting aside earlier ruling.
The CA's 14th Division reversed earlier DOJ resolutions in the years 2018 and 2020.
The CA also ordered City Prosecutor of Taguig City to file rape and acts of lasciviousness charges against Vhong.
Vhong Navarro is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He is part of the dance group Street boys in the Philippines. He is currently hosting the noontime variety show, It's Showtime.
Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee were found guilty by the court for grave coercion, in a case filed by Vhong Navarro. The actor became emotional because of the decision of the court on the accused. This was in relation to the mauling incident along with threats on Vhong by the group of Cedric and Denience at the condominium of Deniece in Taguig.
The camp of Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo questioned decision of the judge. They want the judge to be removed from judiciary who handed guilty verdict on them. The case was grave coercion filed by Vhong Navarro.
