The Philippines on Sunday reported 3,643 fresh cases of COVID-19, data released by the country's Health Department showed.
The new cases brought the country's active cases to 35,271, and the total caseload to 3,855,804. Recoveries stood at 3,759,176, while deaths were at 61,357.
The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the most cases in the past two weeks with 14,128, followed by Calabarzon with 8,441, and Central Luzon with 4,785.
Western Visayas came in fourth with 2,484, and Cagayan Valley rounded out the top five areas with 2,117.
Broken down in terms of provinces and cities, Quezon City reported 3,213 cases, followed by Cavite with 2,870, Laguna with 2,378, Manila City with 1,730, and Rizal with 1,553.
There were 20,573 samples and 18,477 individuals tested on Saturday, August 20.
The country's bed occupancy stands at 28.9%, equivalent to 20,494 vacant beds including 2,873 in the intensive case unit (ICU), and 25,966 non-ICU beds.
Latest data available from the DOH show that there were 63,439 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Saturday, August 20, bringing the country's total jabs to 159,599,802.
There were 69.870 million first doses administered, 72.310 million complete doses, and 17.419 million booster doses as of the same date.
DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire last week said the country remained at low risk with an average daily attack rate of 3.53 cases per 100,000 population. -- DVM, GMA News
